Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (1900-1944) was a French writer, aviator, adventurer, poet and author, whose love of flying influenced many of his works. He is best known for his story ‘Le Petit Prince’ ('The Little Prince') published in 1943, ‘Wind, Sand and Stars’ (1939), ‘Southern Mail’ (1929), ‘Flight to Arras’ (1942), ‘Letter to a Hostage’ (1942), and ‘Night Flight’ (1931).

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (1900-1944) was a French writer, aviator, adventurer, poet and author, best known for his story ‘Le Petit Prince’ ('The Little Prince') published in 1943, which became a modern classic. His novel ‘Wind, Sand and Stars’ (1939), was also a huge success, winning the Académie Française's Grand Prix du Roman (Grand Prize for Novel Writing) and the United States National Book Award. His other works include a memoir called ‘Southern Mail’ (1929), ‘Flight to Arras’ (1942), ‘Letter to a Hostage’ (1942), and ‘Night Flight’ (1931) which won the prestigious Prix Femina.
